In which I discuss micro-edits, why I love basketball even though I’m bad at it, and the paradoxical nature of time and the travel thereof.
Thanks to Kana at The Halfhazard Wanderer for nominating me for my first-ever award! She posts funny, relatable stories about her travels and experiences, complete with adorable drawings. Check out her blog if you haven’t already!

OK, here we go. I’ll try to keep these short!
3 Things About Me
- I’m currently in the micro-editing phase of writing a mystery novella, set in a 1920s English village. I have a love/hate relationship with micro-edits: I love tweaking phrasing until it sounds perfect, but I hate it when I can’t get it to sound perfect!
- I own signed copies of Jayber Crow by Wendell Berry and The Wednesday Wars by Gary D. Schmidt, two of my favorite books and authors!
- I have a twin sister who is also my best friend. Some people say we look exactly alike, and some people say we look completely different.
Questions from The Halfhazard Wanderer
1. If you could magically acquire a new skill/talent, what would it be and why?
Definitely musical theatre. I think it would be so cool to be good at acting, singing, and dancing–and combining all those talents while performing musicals.
2. Name something/someone that has greatly changed your life.
Playing basketball has been important for me. I’m not naturally athletic at all and I used to hate sports, but in the last few years that’s changed. I’m still not that good, but I’ve improved a lot, and now I love basketball. Also, playing basketball has helped me to be less of a perfectionist and learn from failure.
3. Which fictional universe (TV, movie, book) would you wish to visit for a day?
Hogwarts, of course! I’d love to go hang out in the Hufflepuff common room and go to class with McGonagall and Flitwick. But I’d be sure to pick a day when Potions isn’t on the schedule, so I could avoid Snape.
4. Who would you wish to be stuck in an elevator with? (It can be a celebrity or someone you know.)
Oh my gosh, I can’t decide! I’d have to say C.S. Lewis. He was friendly and brilliant, so he could give me advice on writing and theology, while figuring out how to get out of the elevator.
5. You have the power to time travel and can only change one thing in history without creating a time paradox and destroying the universe. What would you change? (It can be something from your personal past or something bigger.)
After overthinking this, I’ve decided that: not creating a time paradox is, in itself, paradoxical. So as much as I’d like to make this guy decide to kill Hitler in World War I, thus stopping World War II, the Holocaust, and Stalin killing off tons of his people… well, there were still other extremist anti-Semitic people in post-World War I Germany who would have been happy to rise to the occasion! But, I digress. I suppose I must leave this question unanswered.
I nominate…
And here are my questions for you!
- What’s your favorite thing you’ve posted on your blog?
- What is one thing that you are glad someone forced you to do?
- Strawberry jam, grape jelly, or orange marmalade?
- Name one activity (sports, music, etc) that you are terrible at.
- If you could wipe one fast-food chain off the face of the earth, what would it be?
Thanks for sticking with me. See you on Wednesday!

Congrats for getting the award and also for nominating me. ❤ It's also my first ever award. This is exciting! I couldn't agree more with your answers esp. with the time travel. If only we can have that power to stop all the madness that happened in the past. Oooh and Hogwarts haha, I would love to have a piece of Treacle tart. Let's go eat that in a cozy common room. Lol.

I loved your answers here – I had so much fun learning more about you! Haha – of course it has to be Hogwarts! Same here, I’m not athletic at all. I ran cross country all through high school and running remains my form of physical activity of choice. I’ve never been good doing team sports that involve a ball (I’m too scared of being wacked in the face -lol).
I look forward tor reading more from you in the future… Happy Blogging! 🙂
Oh – and congrats on the nomination!
